Ringing Bells / Bells are traditionally chimed at Irish weddings to keep evil spirits away and to ensure a harmonious family life. Some Irish brides even carry small bells in their bouquets as a reminder of their sacred wedding vows, and they are a common gift for newlyweds.
What is a wishing rock? It's a rock with a single perfectly unbroken stripe all the way around the circumference of the rock. For a rock to qualify as a true wishing rock, there can be no splits, no outrunners, no faint second lines on the rock. Popular lore holds that if you keep a wishing rock in your pocket (or nearby) and make wishes on it, it will help your wishes come true.
1. Place bowls of onions around your house, and you won't get colds or the flu. 2. Cut both ends off an onion. Put it into an empty jar and place it next to the bed of a sick patient at night. In the morning the onion will be black from all the germs and bacteria it absorbed during the night, and the patient will feel better.
