1840’s era sixth plate daguerreotype of a good looking young man, image is in very good condition with original seals intact, there are a few fine tiny matt rubs at the top that must has been done by the artist himself, has dirty cover glass but the plate otherwise looks great, it’s a very holographic example, all the little dark spots are merely shadows of dirt on the glass. | eBay!

When I look at this daguerreotype, with all the body language going on and the composition, my eyes always drift back to the beautiful turquoise in the lady’s dress and how it flows. I also look at the child’s red coral necklace, the father’s crossed hands showing a gold ring, the growing boy’s earnestness, and back to the child holding hands with mother. | eBay!
