A young married Tuareg woman. Tuareg people have traditionally been nomadic, living in northern Africa. They wear dark blue (almost black) robes and the indigo dye stains their skin blue. They've been called the 'Blue People' for this reason.
The Kayan women of Burma wear golden rings around their necks, adding rings as they grow older to give the illusion of an elongated neck. Some think the ritual originated to make the women unattractive to the slave trade.
