log end – Cordwood Construction ™
These pictures are from a Polish website called Organica. This is a log home building company that has started using cordwood infill in between heavy log framing. The log wall in the picture has cob for the mortar matrix and is colored with potter’s dyes. This is an example of a gorgeous sauna with heavy log framing and cordwood infill from Polish Organica builder Mateusz Szwagierczak.

Cobwood construction. The voids will be filled with straw, sawdust or leaves for insulation. The interior and exterior can be left as is and do not NEED finishing but for an increased R value, you can straw bale over the outside and then cob over that. The interior can also be cobbed over, plastered with earth plaster or plaster of paris. My dream home. The walls would be about 4 feet thick!
