Some trees bare their souls more visibly than others and some of them profoundly so. Faces may sometimes be seen to fade or even vanish seasonally, particularly in winter, only to reawaken when spring has sprung. The two main forms of commonly stationary faces to be seen upon the bark of trees are known as the Sleepers and the Old Heads.
