Quilt artist Deb Hyde has made amazing portraits and nudes in this style for over a decade. “My work is unique,” she said. “I developed this style myself, and what I do is, I work with fabric, commercially available fabric. I have a workshop that probably has over 1,000 different fabrics in it, and I use these fabrics.” She cuts 1-inch squares of prints, arranges them on a fusible grid, and sews 1/4 inch seams - so each piece finishes to a half-inch square. Amazing visual effects!
