long ago in another time, people had lots of time on their hands. In that world, people had a different relationship with time. Everything was somewhat uncomplicated. One could spend days or weeks creating a simple bead or slowly hollowing a stone into a bowl.
another stone pot from Medog, Nyingchi,Tibet. A metal ladle instead of wood. This is a large pot. Traditionally they are small. Sometimes just big enough for a single serving. Others are almost 2 gallons.
From Medog Province, Tibet. Life goes on as it has for several thousand years in this remote area near Burma. These bowls are used, usually, to cook a chicken stew. Green sticks are used to move the pot from the fire pit. Large wooden ladles are used to serve. They develope a deep black patina glaze from soot and time.
