I love Ricky...a bit too snarky for me sometimes, because I think people should believe in a god if that's what they need to believe in, but I've thought this very same thing all throughout my adult life.
Not an endorsement of Napoleon, but he saw right through certain things. But in the grown up world of the 21st C, is it possible to still be relying on imaginary friends of this kind and expect anyone of taste or intellect to take you seriously?
This is one reason why keeping religion - ALL religion - out of government is important. And government neutrality on the issue of religion is NOT the functional equivalent of promoting atheism. It is the government taking no sides on the issue of religion, so all may make their protected choice.
Just in case one does not have a clear definition of an atheist. Or a Christian, for that matter.
