A Trombe wall is a passive solar building technique where a wall is built on the winter sun side of a building with a glass external layer and a high heat capacity internal layer separated by a layer of air. Heat in close to UV spectrum passes through the glass almost unhindered then is absorbed by the wall that then re-radiates in the far infrared spectrum which does not pass back through the glass easily, hence heating the inside of the building.

This is my current favorite. 1787 Sq ft. Great house! Efficient use of space (no hallways=no wasted space) great passive solar design with large low windows to catch winter sun and eaves to block hot summer sun. I would extend eves over the side with the main entry and create a covered porch, wood stove instead of FP. Add garage with entry through utility/laundry. Check out version 2 with carport.

3 or 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, very open kitchen with large island, huge patio with outdoor fireplace. Almost perfect, just needs a tub in the second bath.
