Carolyn King Ypsilanti Little League
Carolyn King, formerly of Ypsilanti, Michigan (shown here), was one of the first girls to play Little League Baseball back in the mid 1970's. She received a lot of static and pressure to quit from those who didn't want to see a girl playing a boy's game. She didn't cave in, and her parents even took Little League baseball to court to let her play. The court ruled in her favor, and she helped pave the way for girls to play baseball and softball in their communities.
