For those of you with your finger on the pulse in the sartorial world this sneak peek into your future #lewks won't have come as a surprise, but for others it no doubt seemed a tad premature. But what can we expect to be dominating the fashion landscape post-summer?
We're talking ULTRA mini minis, super sheer fabrics, outerwear as underwear, ‘90s neons, ’00s low-slung waists and, yes, more cut-outs… Ready to skip winter and plan your spring wardrobe?
Stacked hair accessories are the way pretty way to add extra interest to hair – the trend was seen at Alice & Olivia, Simone Rocha and Tom Ford. Meanwhile floral details appeared at Rixo, Yuhan Wang and Naeem Khan.

Fashion Month SS22

In a season of fashion ‘shows’ which saw designers doing the pandemic pivot and creating everything from mini movies to hosting intimate one-on-one presentations, Chanel dropped the mic on Spring / Summer 2021 at the finale of fashion month. Inspired by iconic films of the Nouvelle Vague and with a Hollywood-style CHANEL sign dominating the set, this was a meeting of fashion and film. We spotted the following trends you’ll be desperate to bring into to your wardrobe for Spring.
Fashion month has just come to a close, but as designers and models breathe a sigh of relief it's up to fashion editors around the world to digest everything we've seen and relay trends in a bitesize way for the reader. But while we do this and forecast next season's biggest trends, fashion buyers are also busying themselves with autumn/winter preparation, choosing which specific pieces are and aren't worthy of making their way into stores.
Paris marks the end of fashion month and while it rained nearly the entire week, it didn’t dampen the fun backstage. Major looks included sky-high Marie Antoinette hair and powdered faces at Thom Browne, ginormo dolly lashes at Ralph & Russo and full-on flower power at Giambattista Valli where petals decorated the models’ faces. So here are some of the best spring/summer 2020 moments from Paris Fashion Week.

I know what you're thinking; “aren't Adidas Sambas a bit…old school?” I was right there with you until I saw them taking up residence on the feet of Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. Picture: Getty
At London Fashion Week, as the models walked back down the catwalk, showgoers’ eyes were all focused on their backs. The backless fashion trend is having a major moment as backless dresses.
We'll give it to them: Mango nails expensive-looking wardrobe staples like few other brands on the high street. And all manner of celebs and influencers are aware of it. Kate Middleton wore a high neck knitted Mango dress while visiting a children's centre in Middlesex earlier this season, Jessica Alba wore a pair of Mango ecru ankle boots while out in NYC in November, and Emily Ratajkowski wore a pair of Mango cowboy boots, also in New York, back in the summer.

When you’re dressed otherwise casually (let us guess, it’s a t-shirt?) a bit of bling is the ultimate highlight. The high / low mix - where you combine a basic (like a grey marl tee) with something fancy (a pair of chandelier earrings, say) - is every stylist’s secret weapon for looking polished without trying too hard. Socialising sorted! 📸 neckontheline

Wide-leg, balloon fit or barrel-shaped are some of the ways these slouchy shapes are being rebranded to make the leap from slim-leg to super-sized a little easier. Although we got used to our jeans being spray-on over recent years, not only are baggy jeans a welcome comfort, they are also a versatile style choice.

Hoods - and not the ones attached to your favourite loungewear - have been creeping into some of the world's chicest wardrobes over recent months, but as of autumn we're all going to be wearing them. Ideal on those days where a morning hair wash just doesn't fit into your alarm-snoozing agenda, these are generally slim-fit, knitted numbers and look particularly great with a full monochrome look.
Not one for those devotees to a ‘tonally neutral’ look, for AW22 we'll all be needing a good pair of sunglasses as neon pink takes over our wardrobes. In fact, it's so hot right now (well, come autumn) that Valentino's entire collection was devoted to the hue. Officially Elle Woods-approved, these are head-to-toe looks - quite literally - and require little more than a bit of courage to pull off.
No doubt influenced by Euphoria's 90s and Y2K sartorial references, the fashion world has falling head-over-heels for nostalgic fashion. The Gen Z style set, in particular, cannot get enough, and there were several looks shown on the AW22 runways that were seemingly made for TikTok. You might need the next six months to gear up for this one, because it's all about flesh-flashing crop tops, skimpy minis, low-rises and sheer elements that are deliberately more playful than sexy.
