On a day which we had visited a priory (Beauly) and a battlefield (Culloden) we next went to Cawdor Castle and its beautiful gardens with a very overcast sky, but that didn't take away from its grand appearance. Cawdor Castle is an unusual castle in that it is the home for a lovely woman (we saw paintings of her). She lives elsewhere during the summer (tourist) season and returns to live in for the winter. We were able to tour the inside the castle and see the lovely rooms she inhabits, but…
