The white-eared catbird (Ailuroedus buccoides) is a medium-sized passerine found in the tropical and sub-tropical dry forests of Papua (Indonesia), Papua New Guinea and some nearby islands. Chinese export porcelain silver-form dish decorated with birds, circa 1750-1760. The oval dish with a shaped moulded rim is finely painted with a grouping of different birds in the centre including geese, pheasants an a parrot. The shoulder of the dish with four fine famille rose botanical paintings. The rim with a moulded grooved border with the outer border lined in gold.
