A melting patch of ancient snow in the mountains of Norway has revealed a bow and arrows that were probably used by hunters to kill reindeer as long ago as 5,400 years. The bow and arrow design is strikingly similar to those found in other frigid locales, such as the Yukon. Though these peoples never met, they separately developed similar adaptations. The discovery highlights the worrying effects of climate change, said archaeologist Martin Callanan.
