Abisko National Park, Norrbottens Län, Sweden  is a place of many delights, including a birch-clad valley, flowery alpine meadows and dazzling river rapids. The park is surrounded on three sides by lofty mountains and, in the north, by Scandinavia’s largest alpine lake, Torneträsk. Abisko is easily accessible and has long been a popular starting point for hikes in the mountain of Lapland.

Abisko National Park, located south of Torneträsk in Kiruna, Norrbottens län Sweden. It is a valley with birches, blooming meadows and beautiful waterfalls, framed by towering mountains.

Kiruna, Sweden (north of the Arctic Circle). I went to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights and while I was there on the shortest day of the year, I only got a slight glimpse of the lights after hiking about an hour out of town into the freezing night.
