Hulking on the County Meath skyline like a granddaddy of Anglo-Norman architecture, Trim Castle has presided in solid solemnity since the 12th century. In more recent times it has hosted the cast of Braveheart, which was filmed here in 1995 – and it greets countless intrepid visitors to this day!
