Fair Trade hat handmade of sun-dried raffia palm leaves that are braided into ribbons and sewn together. Dyes used meet requirements for health and environment. The hat is decorated with a flower crocheted from the same material. Small photo of designer and artisan Madame Clarisse. The hat is made by her and other women on the Malagasy countryside. Fair Trade raffia hats in pastels and nature white. Colours and materials that are sustainably beautiful. Photos under the hats show the raffia palm then the craft technique used for these hats which involves first braiding the raffia palm leaves into long ribbons, then sewing them together to make a hat (shown here by artisan and designer Madame Clarisse).
