colour changing flowers - fun (and pretty!) science experiment for kids

Colour Changing Flowers Experiment

Learn about transpiration in nature with this colour changing (dying) flowers experiment from Go Science Girls. This would be a great science activity for my classroom.

Den nya affischen för Museum Lars Jonsson 2015 finns nu på museet. Jag har även gjort ett nytryck på Tätting-affischen från 2009, men bytt ut ett par arter och kallat den Vårfåglar.

Brighten up your house with these gorgeous rainbow roses. It’s simple: just spilt a stem 3 ways (use a knife with parental supervision), then dip into 3 Ziploc® Slider bags filled with different-colored dyes. An inexpensive and DIY way to make mom’s day or a great rainy day craft to do with the kids.

I used this as a science experiment when I was student teaching in first grade. I used different colored food dye, water, and empty container/water bottle, and white carnation flowers. I put the dye in the water first then put the flowers down in the water. I let the students predict on the first day what they thought the dye would do to the flowers and throughout the week we watched to see what the flowers would do. By the end of the week the flowers were different colors. Pretty neat!

What s a catchy slogan for a color changing flower science fair
