"The rain set early in tonight, The sullen wind was soon awake, It tore the elm-tops down for spite, And did its best to vex the lake: I listened with heart fit to break. When glided in Porphyria; straight; She shut the cold out and the storm, And kneeled and made the cheerless grate; Blaze up and all the cottage warm." ~Robert Browning

Bradshaw, NE tornado

Another view of this incredibly photogenic tornado towards the end of its lifecycle from June 20th. The inflow band into the tornado is directly above me at this point and created a natural leading line into the tornado. Be sure to check out HD video of the chase here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKhWIF-3Nb4 I wish I could post it here but flickr limits the video to only 90 seconds.

'Stunning and beautiful Colorado Tornado' by Ron Gravelle. On May I was able to forecast and photo this awesome and beautiful tornado near Campo Colorado. National Geographic Readers Choice Award for October 2011. "When I left Santa Fe," says Gravelle, 46, a part-time storm chaser vacationing in New Mexico, "I was sure there'd be a tornado near Springfield, Colorado." He was right. This twister "stayed in the open country, away from people or buildings, rotating at 120 mph but only moving at 5 mph." ©Ron Gravelle
