c1770 COMMODE,  Transition, signed by P. GARNIER (Pierre Garnier, maître 1742), Paris.   Tulipwood, rosewood and various precious woods in veneer, and finely inlaid with reserves and decorative frieze. Front with 4 drawers, the top drawer divided in two. Gild bronze mounts and sabots, replaced. 144x59.5x105 cm.   Sold for CHF 15 000 (hammer price)

A Louis XV Style carved Giltwood Canape. Third quarter 19th century, upholstered in a tapestry depicting maidens assisting a nobleman in removing his armor, with an arched crestrail over a flat back issuing scrolled arms on outcurved supports joining the rectangular seat, over a serpentine seatrail supported on acanthus-headed cabriole legs, on scroll feet.
