Casket with Scenes from Romances early - century (Late Medieval) -leather over wood and iron, traces of paint and gilding. This leather box was probably used to store important documents, money, or other precious objects.
Marriage casket, 14th century. Artist Unidentified artist, French, 14th century French. Ivory casket with engraved silver mounts. Decorated with 15 reliefs, each depicting an amorous couple; on the lid 4, on the front 3 on each side 2 (the right hand with Tristan and Iseult watched by King Marke, and a couple playing chess). The silver straps engraved with long-necked dragons; engraved silver esutcheon over key-tablet, 16th-17th century. Panel and strap at left side broken.
