Lillian Diana Gish (October 14, 1893 – February 27, 1993[1]) was an American stage,[2] screen and television actress, director and writer whose film acting career spanned 75 years, from 1912 to 1987. Gish was called The First Lady of American Cinema. She was a prominent film star of the 1910s and 1920s, particularly associated with the films of director D. W. Griffith. Dorothy Gish (1898 - 1968) Sister of Lillian Gish, Dorothy often starred with Lillian in early films. While Lillian was a serious actress, Dorothy was a comedienne.  Dorothy starred a series of wildly popular films under the D.W. Griffith' supervised films for Triangle-Fine Arts and Paramount from 1918 to 1920.Gish died of pneumonia in 1968.
