South African Kingfisher

Malachite Kingfisher (Alcedo cristata) is a river kingfisher which is widely distributed in Africa south of the Sahara

The African fish eagle, a specie I am not too familiar with, but what a lovely bird.

"As kingfishers catch fire, dragonflies catch flame;/As tumbled over rim in roundy wells/Stones ring;like each tucked string tells, each hung bells/Bow swung finds tongue to fling out broad its name"--Gerard Manley Hopkins, "As Kingfishers Catch Fire." ~~kingfisher by zahoor-salmi~~

Just as kingfishers reflect the bright daylight (“catch fire”) by their irridescent blue feathers, dragonflies also catch and reflect the sunlight as the color red (“flame”).
