In Hinduism, there is the idea of a central, supreme, unified Godhead that is referred to as Brahman. It has no gender, no form, no age, no beginning, no end. But worshipping a formless idea is not easy. Hinduism acknowledges that if you are evolved enough, you may be able to bring your attention to the formless. But until then, we lend varied forms and names to divinity. Everything is sacred - animals, plants, objects, places, people, gods, goddesses.
