# 5 - How to Build "Stone" Walls  There are many techniques for creating "stone" walls on stage.    TROMPE L'OEIL - or fool-the-eye painting. This is the traditional method, to simply paint stone or any other 3D architecture directly on to the flat surface of the stage wall or flats.
