Part I : Blue Velvet Room at Chiswick House, designed by Lord Burlington.   Matching the color of the room and the furniture was a key feature of British Palladianism.  The walls are dual shade velvet.   Over the door is a pulvinated (leaf pattern) and imbricated (ribbon banding) freize. The ceiling is covered in gold motifs of classicism and highly symmetrical.
