Villas la Roche-Jeanneret - Le Corbusier

After Le Corbusier failed in his attempt to buy E-1027, he settled for a nearby plot of land on Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Here, he built his own summer hideaway, a tiny wooden cabanon measuring just 144 square feet. The interior is a perfect demonstration (in miniature) of Le Corbusier’s principles of economical living, complete with built-in furniture and a fantastically colorful paint scheme. The cottage was the only building that Le Corbusier designed for his own use.
