Lewis Hine, portrait, Nd. This is Lewis Hine, a famous photographer who captures intriguing moments that tell powerful stories. Lewis Hine’s most popular subjects include immigrants, especially on Ellis Island, tenements, sweatshops, and child labor conditions. Hine worked as a photographer for the Red Cross during World War I. In addition, Hine photographed the construction of the empire state building.
