Paul Cézanne, April 13 1906 -by Gertrude Osthaus “ Paul Cézanne, French Post-Impressionist artist - died this day in 1906 from pneumonia. He had been caught by a rain storm a few days earlier.

When Mili visited Picasso in 1949 he showed Picasso some of these photographs. That led Picasso to create his light drawings with a small flashlight in a dark room. The images would be preserved by the camera only, no canvas.

It would be very curious to record by means of photographs, not the stage of the picture, but its metamorphoses - Light Drawings — photographs of Pablo Picasso by Gjon Mili, 1949
