Rick Norsigian says the 65 negatives are the work of U. nature photographer Ansel Adams, but his family and publisher dispute the claim branding it 'fraudulent'.

Adams recognized that composing photographs in color is different from black and white and allowed that "some of us instinctively 'see' better in color" (Mono Lake, White Branches and Clouds, California, 1947).
