Ruins of ancient jericho. ISRAEL Deuteronomy 32:49 And the LORD (YAHWEH) said, Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: (God changed his name to Abraham later)

Ruins of ancient jericho. ISRAEL - we didn't get to Jericho when I visited Israel, but I wish we had. both for it's Biblical connections, but also for the archaeology.

The burial chamber of King Sneferu’s Meidum Pyramid. c 2600 BC. This was the first time a corbelled ceiling was used inside a pyramid – designed to spread the immense weight of the stone above it and ensure that the immense bulk of the pyramid would not flatten the king. The stone was left undressed and the burial chamber never used. Sneferu had his sights set on a new location and a new pyramid: Dahshur.
