I love the checked fabric made by knitting with alternating colors. I thought a cowl would be the perfect way to showcase that.

cryin' icicles. plucky Traveler Aran or Trusty & Cashmere held double! Oh my! a great little freebie that is fantastic worked up in Traveler Aran and Scholar. BUT, let’s not forget (tweak the numbers a little) about SNUG. Oh my. Decadent in SNUG. Oh, and what if you did an I-cord around the cop and bottom in contrasting color(s)? Yes, that’s definitely a good idea.

The Jeera Shawl-Cowl is a hybrid piece. It is knit like a cowl, but designed to look like a semi-circular shawl draped around the neck. It is worked in alternating bands of garter stitch and a very simple textured openwork stitch pattern and begins as a shawl knit flat. When the top edge reaches the appropriate length, the two ends are joined and worked in the round to the end. A picot border finishes the piece.
