Brooch  Made in France between 1811-1900  Enamel and gold, artist unknown.  François Joseph Charles Bonaparte, son of Napoleon I and his second wife, Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria, was named the ‘King of Rome’ by his father when he was born in 1811. At Napoleon’s first abdication during the downfall of the empire in 1814-15, François briefly became Emperor Napoleon II, but in name alone.

Théodolinde de Beauharnais, Princess of Leuchtenberg (1814-57), Countess of Württemberg by marriage, was a granddaughter of Joséphine de Beauharnais, Napoleon's first wife. Fifth of the seven children of Eugène de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg, and his wife, Princess Augusta of Bavaria, Théodolinde had two brothers (Auguste and Maximilian) and three surviving sisters (Joséphine [later queen of Sweden], Eugénie, and Amélie). Joséphine de Beauharnais was her paternal grandmother.

King James I (1603 - 1625)  was the son of Mary Queen of Scots and her second husband Lord Darnley. He was descended from Robert the Bruce, and the English Tudors through his great grandmother Margaret Tudor sister of Henry VIII.  His mother remarried , but in 1567 was forced to renounce the throne of Scotland and James became King Jame VI...When Elizabeth I died in 1603 James was crowned King James I of England the first King of the combined crowns of England and Scotland.
