Brown straw bonnet with ombré striped ribbon, American, Dark brown straw raffia w/light brown woven insets. Narrow brim close to ears, rising vert above forehead in spoon-shaped curve. Slopes down to a small crown. Deep ruffle of striped silk taffeta, edged w/ black velvet. 1860-1869
