We had plastic baby rattles like this when I was a kid. Nobody thought about how dangerous they were - the plastic would crack, the little beads inside would come out.

Mercurochrome - Notice the lovely color? As you might have guessed from the name, it contained mercury. Yup. Moms all across the nation were swabbing open wounds with a concoction made from stuff now well-known to cause brain damage, kidney failure, and birth defects. Wheeeeeee!

The cure for any cut. It always left you with an orange stain.your mom would blow on the cut while she was putting it on so it wouldn't hurt.

Glass figurines...there was a booth at our Mall where you could watch a man make these and then purchase them. I had a shelf full!

We called it monkey blood. Fall down at recess, sent to the nurse's office, it burned like fire!  No wonder, it was 30% alcohol.

Most medicine cabinets of our childhoods boasted a bottle.ooo, remember Mom applying mercurochrome to our cuts & scraps - ouch!

Potato mashers still have one.

Mashed potatoes were made with this type of masher. Mom and Grandma used these. I have a few old utensils in my collection.

Pot Holder Loom Loops. Although my Mom no longer has the ones I made for her..she does still have the ones my girls made for her, and this year my granddaughter made her one.

The original metal pot holder maker. I had this and remember making a lot of pot holders for Christmas gifts.

Anyone else get excited when they see these bindings?Golden Books - loved these always brings me back to my childhood love, reading!

This is definitely one item of 'vintage fashion' that I am very glad is gone forever!!!!
