Nanzoin Temple:  The Reclining Buddha.  Although the mountains and lush nature around Nanzoin are breathtaking, the main draw for visitors is the incredible reclining Buddha statue, called “Nehanzou”. Standing at 11 meters tall and 41 meters long, it is claimed to be the largest bronze Buddha in the world. A Buddhist monk who won the lottery is said to be the sponsor of this impressive statue which was completed in 1995.
