Marble Arch. The Tube station has around a dozen official exits - the most complicated subway system in the world. Marble Arch is also associated with the name Tyburn (archaic, akin to Tyburnia), an archaic village where London’s gallows once stood. The now lost Tyburn River descended into Piccadilly and ended up in the Thames by Vauxhall. (Oxford Street was once called Tyburn Lane.) Prisoners at Tyburn were burned on the spot a few yards west of what is now Marble Arch.
