The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Moscow, Russia, on the northern bank of the Moskva River, a few blocks southwest of the Kremlin. With an overall height of 338 feet it is the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world.
Channel to Big Neva River, Saint Petersburg, Russia ~ The hallway above connects parts of the Winter Palace with one another. We sailed under the arches on a boat tour of Petersburg; here the canal is iced up. It leads to the Neva.
A most memorable trip with my seven French travel companions, and our private guide, Olga, who was with us for three fabulous weeks in Saint Petersburg. She spoke perfect French and was delightful company.
