Bronzino, Portrait of Bia, a posthumous portrait of Bia de' Medici, the illegitimate daughter of Cosimo I de'Medici, 1542' The Uffizi, Florence One of my very favorites!  Painted after her death at about age six.  She was adored by her father in an age when girls were not treasured.

Giulia Romola di Alessandro de' Medici (c. 1535 – c. was the illegitimate biracial daughter of Alessandro de' Medici, Duke of Florence and his mistress Taddea Malaspina.

Agnolo Bronzino ~ Alessandro de' Medici ~ Duke of Florence ~ 1510-37 ~ called 'il Moro' the Moor. Illegitimate son of Giulio de Medici and a servant woman of African descent  identified in documents as Simonetta da Collevecchio. He was murdered by a cousin, Lorenzaccio de' Medici. Alessandro wielded great power as the first duke of Florence and is one of two Medici princes whose remains are buried in the famous tomb by Michaelangelo.

6. Portrait of Bianca de Medici by Bronzino. ca. 1542. The girl wearing tight fitted bodice, puffed on the upper arms sleeves and wide skirt, golden belt on her waist and jewelry. We can see the corner of her camicia as well. She dressed up exactly like adult women.
