"The Revninge woman". The discovery of this small gilt silver figurine, in Denmark, contains a wealth of detail giving new knowledge about costume and jewellery of the Viking period. The figurine has been dated to
n 2002 a metal detectorist uncovered this 40 mm high silver pendant near Wickham Market in Suffolk, England. Of Scandinavian origin and dated to the cent., it shows a figure in a long gown, wearing a (?)crested helmet and carrying a sword and a shield.
