Blackout poetry- this would be a great activity for April National Poetry Month
I would copy this bulletin board idea! I think it would be wonderful to post it outside of the class, perhaps in one of the hallways. It showcases student poetry and allows students throughout the school to engage with the work as well.
"take a bite outta a poem" (relate to current exhibition work)
Blackout Poetry Display: Teaches students that poetry isn't always about writing rhymes and also allows them to get creative with how they choose to black out words to make their poems
Oh, it's so #bleeping on. Blackout #poets, unite! #blackoutpoetry #Aprilis…
Download and print these cute templates and copy out a favorite little poem to tote around on "Poem in Your Pocket Day" (April 30, 2015).
"Poet-Tree"-- poetry book display - poets on tree leaves - April is National Poetry Month -I am going to make kids write out their favorite poems instead on the leaves.
Maybe for poetry month have children or teens write poems on the leaves. "Poet-Tree"-- great idea for a poetry unit! (Could also put the students' names in with the famous poets! I did read this idea in a fancy nancy book though
