Persian kinjal, 19th century, typical form with watered steel single-edged blade with three engraved gutters with gold overlay floral decoration above the point and on the forte, with inscription on verso in nasta'liq, ox-horn hilt with three pins with filigree decoration and gilded knops, the back with silver coins, join in grip with studded border, leather covered sheath with filigree and silver repoussé floral decorated fittings, with leather belt attachments, 31¼in. (79.3cm.) long.

A Caucasian silver mounted kindjal (‘kama’) with belt. Dagestan late 19th century (front, rear and two close-ups).  Straight, double-edged blade with double groove and a deep mark at the base; silver-plated hilt richly engraved and nielloed; wooden scabbard decorated en suite; the rear surface, smooth and nielloed. With leather belt featuring mounts of engraved and nielloed silver. Length: 49 cm.
