This week I finally took the time to fully develop my cold porcelain recipe, and I am so pleased with the results!  After searching high and low for a recipe that was firm enough for what I was wanting, I decided to just apply some chemistry knowledge and work it out for myself.  It was a really fun process, and I ended up with a beautiful clay that turns out perfectly every time and can be scaled up or down with ease.

Vicki Grant, "Quilted Whimsies" uses hand textured porcelain for the main body of her mixed-media work. Often a shell, piece of bark, or fossil may be the key inspiration to the piece. Oil pigments are hand applied, layer after layer, until the final patina of rich hues is achieved. This complex process, while very labor intensive, allows her complete control of each piece. (SOLD INDIVIDUALLY) 6 x 6 in, $ 150.00 ea.  More VICKI GRANT >
