1942 French Handkerchief - This handkerchief bears the Cross of Lorraine, which was the badge adopted by the Free French Forces in WWII. Also on it are representations of Jeanne d'Arc (the former liberator of France in the Hundred Years War) and Charles de Gaulle (founder and leader of the Free French) - perhaps in an attempt to make a correlation between the two. Finally, the French motto "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" is also incorporated.
