Tycho Brahe (1546–1601) was a Danish astronomer who produced the most accurate measurements and locations of the stars before the use of the telescope. His observation that a new star had appeared in an existing constellation challenged the belief that the stars were fixed and forever unchanging.

Tycho Brahe (/ˌtaɪkoʊ ˈbrɑːhi, ˈbrɑːᵊ/), born Tyge Ottesen Brahe (Danish: [ˈtˢyːə ˈʌd̥əsn̩ 14 December 1546 – 24 October was a Danish nobleman known for his accurate and comprehensive astronomical and planetary observations.

Tycho Brahe - astronomer genius,  hot head. His celestial observations w/out a telescope laid the groundwork for modern astronomy. Fought a sword duel with another mathematician over some calculations - and lost his nose. He made a fake nose for himself from brass and putty, using a special cement to keep it in place, which worked well until he sneezed. His body was recently exhumed for study.

A team of scientists from the Czech Republic and Denmark exhumed the body of Tycho Brahe, the astronomer revered in both countries whose death remains a mystery.
