Thylacoleo carnifex ("pouch lion") is an extinct genus of carnivorous marsupials that lived in Australia from the late Pliocene to the late Pleistocene (2 million to 46 thousand years ago). Some of these "marsupial lions" were the largest mammalian predators in Australia of that time, with Thylacoleo carnifexapproaching the weight of a small lion. The estimated average weight for the species ranges from 101 to 130 kg

Lehi, UT - Museum of Ancient Life features one of the world’s largest displays of mounted dinosaurs with 60 complete dinosaur skeletons, along with more than 50 hands-on exhibits. Be sure to check out the working paleontology lab where workers are unearthing real dinosaur bones. You can even pretend to be a paleontologist yourself in the Junior Paleo Lab by casting your own fossil and drilling a real fish fossil to take home.

Megalodon Jaws by Houston Museum of Natural Science Like the sharks of today, megalodon's teeth needed constant replacing. The ones up front were the business end of the mouth, while the ones in the back were ready to take a broken tooth's place.
