One of the most depressing books I've ever read, but I couldn't stop reading it.  The world is destroyed by unnamed means and everything is dying.  A man and his son follow back roads to the west coast, hopeful they'll find some sort of civilization.

Honestly the darkest book I have ever read. It makes you truly realize the depths that one will go to in order to survive.
