Over the last week I've been attending a Maori Art taster course. During those 4 days we had to complete our NCEA booklet and also create a piece of Maori Art on some MDF board. The one above is mine, using the Koiri patterns and those three colors. Its approximately 80cm x 20cm.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with using other artist work as an inspiration as long as you acknowledge them . My design is fairly similar but defiantly not a full copy..
