Sand is dragged up from the bottom

Location: North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii Standing in knee deep water as this wave heaves up and over. It is so shallow, the sand is getting sucked into the wave. The sun is directly overhead at noon, which lights up the sand within the wave.

A moon bow is a very rare occurrence and you are lucky to see one! It is caused by the moon behind you, rather than the sun. i got to see one when i was younger driving west on I-90 from Snoqualmie pass.

A Fog bow is formed the same way as a rainbow, but the water droplets are smaller in fog so you cannot see the colours. This ghostly arc is most commonly seen on mountains and in cold sea mists. This photo was taken on a hillside above San Francisco.
