Merrow is the Scottish, Irish & Gaelic equivalent of the mermaid and mermen of other cultures. There are other names pertaining to them in Gaelic: Muir-gheilt, Samhghubha, Muidhuachán, and Suire. They would seem to have been around for millennia because according to the bardic chroniclers, when the Milesians first landed on Irish shores the Suire, or sea-nymphs, played around them on their passage.

Hope Christofferson on Instagram: "The Qilin🌞 Happy magic monday friends, here is a piece I’ve been so excited to share, as it is often referred to as the “unicorn of the east”. Qilins or Kirins hold a revered spot in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese mythology as harbingers of good luck. It was said that the Qilin could foretell the future, and would annoying worthy emperors who were pure of heart. Prints are available in my bio 😉 🧚‍♀️ ✨"
